Syllabus

Class Requirements:

Students are required to attend at least 6 out of 8 Sabbat rituals during their year and a day course of study.

Students are encouraged to attend all full moon rituals and new moon. Students are required to notify the teacher when they will not be able to attend a full moon ritual.

The student should attend at least one New or Dark Moon and Full Moon ritual and journal the experience.

Students should journal their experiences after all full moon and Sabbat rituals.

If the student is unable to attend the CPWC Sabbat or full moon rituals they are still required to celebrate these events on their own.

Homework for each lesson is to be submitted through The Cauldron before the following class period unless otherwise stated within the lesson. All homework will be turned in before the final examination.

Journaling should be turned in on a bi-weekly basis unless otherwise stated submitted through The Cauldron. All journaling will be turned in before the final examination.

Class attendance is key to success for the student as many hands on activities are planned. In addition to the activities, the sharing of ideas within a group setting and learning to work with group energy are invaluable tools for the student. Attendance is a requirement for the class. The student should not miss more than three class periods. Should the student need to miss a class they are expected to inform the teacher and give a valid reason for their absence.

Community service work is a required part of the student’s year and a day course of study. Helping out at all CPWC hosted events counts towards your community service requirements. Work done outside CPWC can be documented in your journal and turned in for credit as well.

Students are required to turn in a Book of Shadows on the date of the final examination. Additional details on BoS requirements are to be found in Lesson One.

Your behavior is a reflection on the community as a whole. The student should be aware of this and act in a manner that does credit to the community.

Grading:

There are four components that the student must receive passing marks in to complete the Wicca 101 class. These are attendance, the overall class work, the Book of Shadows, and the final examination.

Attendance is a pass/fail grade based on meeting the minimum requirements.

Overall Class Work is a graded element and requires a final grade of at least 75% to pass the class. Overall Class Work is broken down into the following components:

    Homework = 50%

    Journaling = 30%

    Community Service = 20%

The Book of Shadows is a pass/fail grade based on completing all required hand written portions.

Final examination is a graded test. The student must achieve at least a 75% grade on this test to pass.
